Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2025
Overview
At Lobsta, privacy isn't a feature — it's a core principle. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the controls you have. TL;DR: we collect as little as possible and your data is always yours.
1. What We Collect
LobstaCloud: Account information (email, name), usage data, and any data you store through the service. Your AI conversations and data are encrypted at rest.
LobstaKit: We collect nothing. It's self-hosted. Your data never touches our servers.
LobstaBox: Optional anonymous telemetry for product improvement. Can be fully disabled.
Website: Basic analytics (page views, referrers). No cookies for tracking. No third-party ad networks.
2. How We Use Data
We use collected data solely to provide and improve the Services. We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties except as required by law or to operate the service (e.g., cloud hosting providers).
3. Data Storage & Security
LobstaCloud data is stored on encrypted servers. We use industry-standard security practices including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Self-hosted users (Kit/Box) manage their own data security.
4. Your Rights
You can request export or deletion of your data at any time. LobstaCloud users can delete their account and all associated data through their dashboard. For Kit and Box, you have full control — just delete it.
5. Third-Party Services
LobstaCloud may integrate with third-party services (e.g., AI model providers) at your direction. These integrations are opt-in and subject to the respective provider's privacy policies.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our services evolve. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the platform.
